A long winter's nap

Philip sleeps quietly under his blanket of snow and ice, dreaming of warmer days and the places he'll go.

Stickers!

That's what this blog is supposed to be about, right? Here we go...

Here's a set of 4x4 related ones I've collected from various folks. I kicked around the idea of driving a Pinzgauer to the Burn some year, but stuff happened and I'm the proud owner of a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser instead. It's all set up for overlanding, so if I decide to give Philip a rest one year, I may try the Jungo road in it. As I was doing research on overland vehicles, I found ih8mud.com, which has been an awesome resource for all sorts of Toyota-related information. Super helpful. The second thing I found was Overland Journal. The pictures are gorgeous and the articles make me want to get in the truck and go.

The second set of stickers are several random ones that I've picked up various places. An ancient, glittery iPod sticker. Showing my grownupness with AAA and AL stickers. We saw Igor and Red Elvises down in Key West over the summer and then here in Seattle at the High Dive in Fremont back in October. Love those guys. The Kin magnets just appeared. There's probably a warehouse full of those somewhere. Central Pub over in Kirkland was a cool place to hang out a few weeks ago while waiting on the wives.

Lastly (for this installment), there's the cautionary set. I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when they see the Swerve sticker on the bus. Muahahahahaha!

Happy New Year!

Philip sleeps quietly in the backyard, loaded with much of the supplies for this year's trip. Tarps, metal poles, and plastic containers don't care much about the cold. I had a dehumidifier running with a hose to outside until the weather got cold enough it froze over. I'll probably set it back up sometime to combat the inevitable mold problem. The planned RV cover didn't happen this year, so once summer arrives Philip will get his yearly bath to remove the moss from all over.
We got several more stickers over the past few months. Rob, my college buddy, is by far the most prolific sender of stickers. I think he's trying to make sure there's only room for his favorite teams on the bus. :) Thanks Rob, we really appreciate it!
Several folks at the Burn this year gave us stickers, including our campmates Ned and Toast. Thanks guys! If you're reading this blog, drop us a line and a sticker or two. You can use those leftover stamps from all the Christmas cards you sent out.

Philip is getting a rack this year. It will be for transporting some things (not the trike, Swordfish) and a relatively safe hang out spot when we are there. Of course, nothing's been started yet, but I've been researching other racks on buses. Leave a comment if you have suggestions.
